Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees - 2023 Edition

Help us spotlight how local governments lead the way in welcoming refugees and migrants as we prepare for the UN Global Refugee Forum (GRF) this December and the Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD) Summit in January 2024. The Call to Local Action for Migrants and Refugees - a joint initiative by the Mayors Mechanism steering committee, in partnership with UNHCR - was launched in 2022 at the International Migration Review Forum, where local governments and their networks mobilised over 70 actions and pledges!

We now invite you to join our 2023 edition:

  1. Does your local government welcome migrants and refugees?

  2. Do you have existing or upcoming work you want to showcase in relation to the support of migrants and refugees?

  3. Do you want to see your leadership in this area showcased to an international audience of states, UN Agencies and International Donors at the GRF and GFMD Summit?

  4. Do you want to share your expertise with your peers, and gain access to knowledge and capacity development activities?

In order for your work to be included in the 2023 Call to Action Report - which will be delivered at the Global Refugee Forum and GFMD Summit - we require your submissions no later than 1 October 2023.
